To get a perspective on the energy costs, the chart on the left compares open/closed signs in three different illuminations: Incandescent, neon signs, and LED. The annual operating costs of the incandescent, neon and LED sign were: $145.07, $126.14 and $4.20, respectively. The LED sign with a mere $4.20 in annual operating costs saves $144.87/sign compared to incandescent and $121.94/sign compared to neon.

In the chart below, is a comparison of the red/green TCI signal, which has incandescent lamps, and the TCIL signal, which has LED light engines. The annual operating cost for the incandescent signal is $55.71 and the LED signal only costs $5.26/year. iSIGNS Inc.'s LED signal also has easy maintenance because just like an incandescent lamp, the LED light engines can screw into any medium sized socket.
